Privacy Notice — HydraLite Pro

Version 1.0 (English) — September 29, 2026

Effective upon publication on the HydraLite website. This is the English version of the Spanish "Aviso de Privacidad" v1.0; both describe the same practices.

1. Who is responsible for your data

The controller of your personal data is HYDRALITE SpA, Chilean tax ID (RUT) 78.477.286-1, domiciled in Las Condes, Santiago, Chile ("HydraLite", "we").

For any privacy question or request, write to support@hydralitepro.com (or soporte@hydralite.cl if you are in Chile), with "Privacy" in the subject line. No special wording is needed to exercise your rights.

This notice describes how we handle personal information when you visit our website, use the HydraLite Pro desktop application, or contact us. Use of the software is also governed by the HydraLite Pro License Terms.

2. First things first: your projects stay on your device

HydraLite Pro is a desktop application that processes your data locally. Your hydraulic design projects — topography, layouts, calculations, results and related files — are stored and processed on your own computer. They are never uploaded to our servers, and we have no access to them unless you voluntarily send us a file for support.

The application does connect to the Internet for specific, limited functions, described below.

3. What information we process, and why

InteractionInformationPurpose
Designing on your deviceProjects, topography, layouts and resultsRunning the software's functions locally. Nothing is sent to HydraLite.
Beta accessYour access code is verified locally on your device; the application queries an access list published on GitHub (that request does not include your code)Validating access during the beta period
Diagnostics and stability (optional)Error and crash reports: technical details of the failure, application version, operating system and execution context; aggregated feature-usage statisticsDetecting and fixing errors, measuring the stability of each release and improving the product. Only active if you accept it when first launching the application (see section 4).
UpdatesUpdate-check requests and the technical connection metadata received by the distribution provider (GitHub)Checking availability and delivering updates
SupportYour email address, your name if you provide it, the content of your message and any files you choose to attachAnswering and resolving your request, and keeping the necessary record of the case
WebsiteTechnical hosting logs (for example, IP address and connection data) and any data you submit through enabled formsServing the site, handling requests and protecting its operation

Future features. When user accounts, online licensing or in-site purchases are enabled, we will update this notice before activating them, identifying the data involved and the providers taking part (for example, the payment processor). Purchasing HydraLite Pro does not make HydraLite the controller of the data you keep in your own projects.

If you send us files for support: please send only what is necessary and remove third-party data that does not help resolve the issue. We will never ask for your password, private keys or full card details to review a project.

4. Diagnostics: you decide

When you first open HydraLite Pro, the application will ask whether you accept the sending of error reports and basic usage statistics. It is optional (opt-in):

  • If you decline, the application works exactly the same and sends none of that information.
  • If you accept, you can withdraw your consent at any time from the application settings, with effect for the future.
  • Reports are used for diagnostics and improvement; they never include the content of your design projects.

5. Legal basis for processing

We process your data on the following bases, under Chilean Law No. 19.628 and, from its entry into force on December 1, 2026, Chilean Law No. 21.719 on personal data protection (HydraLite's governing data-protection framework as a Chilean company):

  • Performance of a contract or pre-contractual steps: delivering the software, license, updates and support.
  • Consent: diagnostics and usage statistics (section 4), promotional communications if enabled (always with an opt-out) and non-essential cookies.
  • Legitimate interest: security of our systems and website, and defense of our rights.
  • Legal obligation: retention of tax documents and responses to requests from competent authorities.

Accessing this notice is never treated as blanket consent for any use. If the law of your country of residence grants you additional mandatory protections, those protections are respected.

6. Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal data or share it for advertising purposes. It is accessible only to authorized people who need it for their role, and to the following service providers:

ProviderServiceDataLocation
Google (Google Workspace)Corporate email and storage of support files in a private, access-restricted driveSupport messages, attachmentsGlobal (US and others)
SentryApplication error and stability monitoring (only if you accepted diagnostics)Error reports, version, operating system, technical failure dataUS
GitHub (Microsoft)Update distribution and beta access listTechnical connection metadata of the requestsUS

We may also disclose data where a valid legal requirement exists or where necessary to protect rights in a claim. This is not an unlimited authorization to disclose.

When online payments are enabled, the payment processor will process your transaction data under its own responsibility and its own privacy notice, which we will identify in this section.

7. International transfers

Some of our providers process data outside Chile, mainly in the United States. These transfers rely on the data-protection agreements signed with each provider (for example, the Google Workspace data processing addendum), which impose security and confidentiality obligations equivalent to our own. From the entry into force of Law 21.719, international transfers will follow the mechanisms recognized by that law.

8. How long we keep your information

CategoryPeriod
Files you send us for supportWhile the case is being handled and up to 30 days after it closes
Support conversations (without attachments)12 months from case closure
Minimal deletion record (case reference, action, date)12 months from deletion
Diagnostic reportsAs long as needed to analyze and fix errors of the corresponding release
Tax documents, contracts and claim evidenceAs required by applicable legal periods

Deleting our working copies does not delete the originals you keep on your device. Cloud providers may retain residual copies during their own technical deletion cycles before final erasure.

9. Your rights

You may request at any time, free of charge:

  • Access: knowing what data of yours we process, for what purpose and to whom it has been disclosed.
  • Rectification: correcting inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erasure: deleting your data when it is no longer necessary or the processing lacks a basis.
  • Objection: objecting to a given processing operation.
  • Portability: obtaining a copy of the data you provided to us in a structured, commonly used format.
  • Temporary restriction of processing while a rectification or objection request is resolved.
  • Withdrawing your consent where consent is the basis of processing, with effect for the future.

Write to support@hydralitepro.com. We will verify your identity proportionately and respond within 30 calendar days of receiving your request. If a right has legal limits, we will explain the decision and the available avenues of review.

From December 1, 2026 you may also lodge a complaint with Chile's Personal Data Protection Agency if you consider that we have not handled your request properly. If you are located elsewhere, you may contact the data protection authority of your place of residence.

10. Cookies

Our website uses only the technical cookies necessary for it to work. If we add analytics or other non-essential cookies in the future, they will remain disabled until you accept them, and you will be able to change your decision at any time through a preference manager. The desktop application does not use cookies.

11. Security

We apply technical and organizational measures proportionate to the data and risks: restricted access to support information, a private storage drive with no external access, strengthened authentication on our corporate accounts, and providers under contractual security commitments. No transmission or storage method is infallible; if a security breach affecting your data occurs, we will notify the affected people and the relevant authorities without undue delay, as required by applicable law.

12. Minors

HydraLite Pro is a professional engineering tool aimed at people with capacity to contract. It is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you become aware that a minor has provided us with data, write to us and we will delete it.

13. Changes to this notice

Each version is published with its effective date and number. If a change is material — for example, a new processing purpose — we will announce it prominently and request your consent again where the law requires it. A change to this notice never retroactively authorizes incompatible uses of data already received.
